do you need a loop and release for shooting compound bows??
im thinking of buying a compound bow to start doing archery but i have no experince i say one on ebay it dosnt have a loop or release will i be able to shoot it plz help me??
The release is not necessary, but according most archers it helps alot, especially with accuracy. However, for hunting purposes you need to check your state's laws.
Louisiana has changed its laws on archery in the last 3 or 4 years and now any archer can use a release for hunting. Before that, only a hunter with a documented disability could use a release, and they had to carry the documentation with them while hunting. I dont' know if any other states might have had or still have similar laws, but it would be worth checking into. This could be very important since you would want to do all your practice without a release if your intending on hunting with your bow, changes aren't good.
